About us

Who we are

Masana Senior Secondary is a school of excellence shining bright as its name. It is situated at Masana Street Dwarsloop Phase 1, right in between two primary Schools Twalakule and Nkwenkwezi to pecify the resident’s needs. It goes beyond the normalities of school requirements offering extra curriculum activities such as sports, debate, speech and science clubs. Its an institution which integrates recreational activities with the syllabus to extract the
student’s outmost potential through exposure to environments that regurgitate and
rejuvenate their minds

History

Ever since 1988, Masana’s vision has always been to provide quality public education and also train learners to be responsible citizens in their academic, cultural, political and economic spheres of their lives. This is why Masana has always maintained an average pass rate of 84.81% ever since 2010 to 2023. With a 70% rate of learners who engage in educational competitions. Even till now the school is still regarded as one of the leading
schools in Bushbuckridge for its excellent performance and youth empowerment.

Mission

Masana Senior Secondary School strives to serve the community of Dwarsloop and
neighbouring settlements with diligence and excellence.

Parents Involvement

The school understands the direct relationship between academic excellence of a student
with the involvement of parents. Parents are prioritised and viewed as a medium of
addressing and reinforcing the school policies to students.

Behaviour Policy

The school prioritises equity and non-discriminative practices, therefore, not condoning any
behaviour that may include bullying, harassment and all of the other excluded behaviours that might jurpotise the student’s human rights. Strict actions such as suspension and
detention are exercised by the school to all students who violate this school Policy.

MASANA does not only offer quality education but they also promote cultural diversity and inclusivity by providing a zero-tolerance bullying policy so that they can create a safe space for diverse students they also host events such as cultural festivals and events, Heritage Day celebration, Traditional dress days etc. Our school also acknowledge diverse spiritual backgrounds creating safe space for spiritual expression.
